Πολλή συζήτηση γίνεται τον τελευταίο καιρό γύρω από την επέκταση και μετατροπή του αεροδρομίου της Πάρου σε διεθνές. Η συζήτηση στο Διαδίκτυο και στον τύπο εμφανίζεται μάλλον πολωμένη, με τη μία μερίδα να μάχεται υπέρ της επέκτασης, επικαλούμενη την «ανάπτυξη» της οικονομίας του νησιού, και την άλλη να την αμφισβητεί, φοβούμενη την υπερβολική επιβάρυνση των ανεπαρκών υποδομών του και την περιβαλλοντική καταστροφή από την περαιτέρω αύξηση του τουρισμού.

Η επέκταση του αεροδρομίου Πάρου, δείχνει το δρόμο
Σκοπός του έργου: Να προσφέρει μια αναβαθμισμένη επιβατική εμπειρία. Να προσφέρει ευκαιρίες για προσέλκυση νέων επενδύσεων στο πλαίσιο της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης και της προστασίας της ιδιαίτερης τοπικής φυσιογνωμίας. Να αναβαθμισθεί η εξυπηρέτηση των κατοίκων της Πάρου, οι οποίοι πλέον αποκτούν ακόμη πιο εύκολη πρόσβαση στην ηπειρωτική χώρα, σε υπηρεσίες υγείας και άλλες κεντρικές υπηρεσίες. Επίσης θα αποκτήσουν άμεση πρόσβαση σε ευρωπαϊκούς ή γειτονικούς προορισμούς.
L’extension de l’aéroport de Paros, montre la voie
Objectif du projet : Offrir plus d’aisance et un meilleur service aux passagers. Offrir des opportunités pour attirer de nouveaux investissements dans le cadre du développement durable et de la protection de la physionomie locale. Améliorer la mobilité des résidents de Paros, qui vont avoir désormais un accès encore plus facile au continent, aux services de santé et aux autres services « centraux ».
The extension of Paros airport shows the way
The purpose of the project is to offer better passenger facilities, to offer opportunities for attracting new investments in the context of sustainable development and the protection of the particular local environment. Significantly, it will also upgrade the services for the residents of Paros, facilitating their travel to the mainland, for health services and other “central” services.

Οι ανασκαφικές και αναστηλωτικές εργασίες στο Δεσποτικό πραγματοποιήθηκαν και φέτος, παρά τις δύσκολες συνθήκες λόγω της πανδημίας. Η υλοποίηση τους δεν θα ήταν δυνατή χωρίς τις ευγενικές χορηγίες των ΑΙΓΕΑΣ ΑΜΚΕ (Θανάσης & Μαρίνα Μαρτίνου), Ίδρυμα Π&Α Κανελλοπούλου, Ίδρυμα Α.Γ. Λεβέντη, Δήμος Αντιπάρου, College Year Athens, Lamda Development, Μάριον Στασινοπούλου και άλλων ιδιωτών. Για ακόμη μία χρονιά η ηθική και υλική συμπαράσταση του Συλλόγου «Φίλοι της Πάρου» ήταν ανεκτίμητη.
