The Friends of Paros & Antiparos can only count on the support of their members and supporters to have the means to act.
For the past 23 years, our association has been a beacon of hope, tirelessly promoting and preserving the unique Cycladic character of our islands. Our work towards sustainable development has left a lasting impact on the environment and the community.
It plays a vital role in bringing the point of view of the citizens of our islands into the public debate, whether they are permanent residents or not.
It publishes a trilingual magazine—The Bulletin—and sponsors a collection of books, the third volume of which will be published this April and the fourth on the monasteries of Paros in the autumn. Lastly, it publishes an electronic newsletter several times a year, providing over 7,000 people with information and analyses of our islands’ cultural, social and economic life. The association also maintains a Facebook page and a group that we invite you to follow.
It is also active in the archaeological field, supporting and promoting the excavations at Despotiko and setting up an organisation with five other associations to restore the ancient marble quarries.
The Friends also support, including financially, the initiatives of many other associations. It co-hosts a number of conferences on sustainable development, environmental protection and cultural initiatives.
Your participation and financial support are crucial for us to continue our work. By becoming a member and contributing financially, you directly support our initiatives. Our annual membership fee, which covers the period from September to August, is €50, or more if you can. We understand that most of your payments are made from June to August, but our activities and related expenses start in September of the previous year.
This is a friendly reminder to renew your membership if you’re already a member or join us if you’re not yet a member.
