Overbuilding, sustainable development and the importance of the island’s Cycladic identity are now better understood by society. These issues have entered the mainstream political arena, particularly at the electoral level. This is a positive development, but it is still in its infancy.

2025 is crucial for the association. FoPA is dedicated to empowering citizens, preserving Cycladic identity, and promoting sustainable development. Other initiatives include supporting archaeological excavations at Despotiko, advancing the establishment of an archaeological park at the ancient marble quarries of Marathi, and expanding cultural and editorial projects, such as a trilingual book on the Byzantine heritage of Paros.
