Dear Friends
After celebrating 10 years of continuous work for the preservation of the Cycladic character of Paros and the balanced and sustainable development of the island the FoP are getting on with practical initiatives.
Last year we carried out a pioneering Tourism Survey and co-organised the first “Artistic Journey in Paros” (open studios event). Their success was encouraging and their value has been recognised by all concerned, and we are therefore repeating them this summer (see pp 4/5 and 8).
A major new initiative is the Environmental Observatory of Paros, an online tool for reporting developments with a positive or negative impact on the natural and built environment and character of Paros (see p. 3).
Our organisation is increasingly engaged all-year-round in issues that matter to the island and has developed a close and fruitful cooperation with the municipality, other local associations and professional bodies of the island.
And, we are always open for new members and new ideas on how to develop the island while protecting its unique asset: its Cycladic character.
