We all can contribute!
Οn Tuesday 16/3/2021 the “Friends of Paros and Antiparos” organised an online information meeting on the “Protection and promotion of the ancient quarries of Paros: Learning from relevant experiences”. This event allowed all of us to draw information and advice from the experiences presented by the speakers and the discussion that followed. You can find the presentations and the recording of the event HERE.
A key message from the meeting is that the involvement of the local community is a prerequisite for the success of any effort to protect and promote ancient marble quarries. That is why the FoPA are launching an effort, in close collaboration with other associations, to find ways and to secure the means to save this unique monument and to promote it through the creation of an archaeological and cultural park in Marathi.

Thank you very much for your positive response to the questionnaire regarding the creation of a Circle for the Ancient Quarries with volunteers willing to contribute practically with their enthusiasm, knowledge or financial support in the efforts to protect and promote this cultural treasure through the creation of archaeological and cultural park in Marathi.
Many fellow citizens and friends of the island responded positively and we will come back in the coming weeks with more information and if possible communicate with each one of you individually, depending on the topic(s) in which you have expressed an interest.
