Kyklos Paros Cultural Society, in collaboration with the Friends of Paros and Antiparos, invites you to a public discussion on the critical issues shaping the future of our island. With construction escalating at an unprecedented rate and the new Local Urban Plan (LUP) on the horizon, this meeting aims to foster open dialogue, share insights, and gather community perspectives.
Key speakers include:
- Nikos Malatestas, head of the municipal committee for the preparation of the proposals for the LUP
- Tonia Pandelaiou, economist, educator, and member of the Paros Citizens’ Movement
- Mayor of Paros, Kostas Bizas, with a planned intervention during the session
This is a timely opportunity for residents, professionals, and friends of Paros to voice their concerns and contribute to shaping a future for the island that reflects the will and values of its people—rather than the direction imposed by unchecked development.
- Date & Time: Monday, March 31st at 19:30
- Location: Fluxus Cinema & Café – Parikia (former Archilochos)
- The discussion will be in Greek, with summaries in English.
- Organized by Kyklos Paros Cultural Society, in cooperation with the Friends of Paros and Antiparos
- All Welcome!
Too late, our beautiful island is ruined. R.I.P. I am so sorry……………
No, it’s never too late. Paros is unique it has a vibrant community and soul that can’t be extinguished. I (we) visit for a month or more ever year and always leave enamoured by the positivity of the community. Over-development can be controlled so that it’s considerate, and brings wealth and empowerment into the community. “Open book” council approval and anti corruption is the key.
