Visit to the archaeological site of Marathi.

The Friends of Paros and Antiparos support the project to create the Archaeological Park of Marathi, where the ancient marble quarries are located. Together with other associations, they have contributed to creating a non-profit society to launch this project.

In this perspective, the Friends are organising, together with other associations, visits to the site, with the help of an archaeologist, to highlight its importance and to continue raising awareness on this subject among visitors and inhabitants of our two islands.

Following the visit to the site on 18 August 2022, we decided to make an additional visit on Friday 9 September 2022 at 6 pm, with the help of the archaeologist Georgia Papadopoulou, to show the parts of the site not visited on 18 August. The meeting place is still the entry point on the road from Parikia to Lefkes via Marathi.
