Though abandoned\, it has been carefully restored and offers serene views\, rich history\, and spiritual ambiance. Ιδρύθηκε από την οικογένεια Δαμία και διαθέτει σταυροειδή τρουλλαίο ναό με ξυλόγλυπτο επίχρυσο τέμπλο. Αν και δεν λειτουργεί πλέον ως μοναστήρι\, έχει αναστηλωθεί με σεβασμό και προσφέρει πανοραμική θέα\, ηρεμία και πνευματική ατμόσφαιρα. Fondé par la famille Damias\, il abrite une église en croix grecque à dôme\, ornée d’une iconostase sculptée en bois doré. Bien qu’il ne soit plus en activité\, le monastère a été restauré avec soin et offre un lieu paisible avec vue panoramique et ambiance spirituelle. Γιορτάστε το μοναδικό terroir του νησιού και συνδεθείτε με τους παθιασμένους ανθρώπους πίσω από κάθε μπουκάλι σε μια χαλαρή και γιορτινή ατμόσφαιρα\, με ζωντανή μουσική και μπουφέ που παρουσιάζει τοπικές λιχουδιές. \nΗ Πάρος έχει μακρά και πλούσια παράδοση στην αμπελουργία και την παραγωγή κρασιού. Είναι ένας κλάδος που δημιουργεί εισόδημα και θέσεις εργασίας\, ενώ παράλληλα προσφέρει μια σημαντική εναλλακτική στο κυρίαρχο τουριστικό μοντέλο\, όπως και η τοπική γαστρονομία. Με τα αμπέλια να καλύπτουν μεγάλες εκτάσεις\, συμβάλλουν καθοριστικά στη διατήρηση της φυσιογνωμίας του παριανού τοπίου και δρουν ως ανάχωμα στην ανεξέλεγκτη δόμηση – προστατεύοντας τη γη από τη μετατροπή της σε ξενοδοχειακά συγκροτήματα. \nΟι Φίλοι της Πάρου και Αντιπάρου\, από την ίδρυσή τους\, έχουν αναγνωρίσει τη σημασία και τη συμβολή της αμπελουργίας. Στην πρώτη τους ετήσια τελετή\, στο ξενοδοχείο Lefkes Villages\, τίμησαν τον  Αντώνη Ποπολάνο\, ο οποίος προσέφερε εθελοντικά τις υπηρεσίες του για την αναγνώριση του «Πάρος ΟΠΑΠ» (Ονομασία Προελεύσεως Ανωτέρας Ποιότητας) για δύο τοπικά κρασιά: το λευκό κρασί από Μονεμβασιά και το ερυθρό από Μανδηλαριά. Η σημαντική αυτή διάκριση άνοιξε νέους δρόμους για την εμπορική προώθηση\, τη χρηματοδότηση και τη διεθνή προβολή των κρασιών του νησιού. \nΜε αφορμή αυτή τη βαθιά σχέση της Πάρου με το κρασί\, οι Φίλοι της Πάρου και Αντιπάρου οργανώνουν για το φετινό καλοκαίρι μια επετειακή βραδιά αφιερωμένη στην τοπική οινική παραγωγή. Η εκδήλωση θα συγκεντρώσει εκπροσώπους του αμπελουργικού τομέα του νησιού\, αναδεικνύοντας τη διαφορετικότητα και τη δυναμική τους. This important recognition opened new paths for commercial promotion\, funding\, and international visibility. \nTo celebrate this deep connection with wine\, the Friends of Paros and Antiparos are organising a special evening this summer dedicated to local wine production. Και ένας ολόκληρος κόσμος πλασμένος από λεπτόκοκκο μάρμαρο\, που βγήκε από τα σπλάχνα της Πάρου και έγινε πρώτη ύλη για σπουδαία αριστουργήματα της αρχαίας ελληνικής γλυπτικής\, υποδέχεται στην έδρα του\, στο Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Πάρου\, την έκθεση «Φτεροκοπώντας. Με τα φτερά του νου και της τέχνης»\, με έργα της γλύπτριας Βένιας Δημητρακοπούλου. \nΤην έκθεση\, που διοργανώνεται από τον Σύλλογο «Φίλοι της Πάρου και Αντιπάρου» και πραγματοποιείται με την ευγενική υποστήριξη της Εφορείας Αρχαιοτήτων Κυκλάδων\, επιμελείται η Ελένη Βαροπούλου. \nΤέσσερα γλυπτά έργα — «Αναπαυόμενη Νίκη»\, «Φτερούγα του Μύθου»\, «Αέναη Πτήση» και «Το Μήνυμα της Αυγής» — είναι οι νέες δημιουργίες της Βένιας Δημητρακοπούλου που παρουσιάζονται σε διάλογο τόσο με το εμβληματικό τρόπαιο των Παρίων\, τη Νίκη\, και με το αρχαϊκό γοργόνειο\, όσο και με το κυκλαδίτικο τοπίο. \n«Δύο γραμμές ορίζουν το φυσικό τοπίο στον κυκλαδικό χώρο. Η μία είναι η ευθεία. Η άλλη\, η καμπύλη. Μία ευθεία γραμμή είναι ο ορίζοντας\, αυτός της θάλασσας. Καμπύλες\, οι μυριάδες στρογγυλεμένες γωνίες στα βράχια\, στα όρη\, στα χαρακτηριστικά κτίσματα των κυκλαδίτικων νησιών. Ένα φως αμείλικτο\, εκθαμβωτικό\, καθαρτικό\, που δημιουργεί την ανάγκη πτυχώσεων στα υφάσματα\, ραβδώσεων στους κίονες και γεννά τα ασύλληπτα παιχνίδια του φωτός και της σκιάς στη γλυπτική»\, σημειώνει η Βένια Δημητρακοπούλου. \nΤόσο στις αίθουσες του μουσείου όσο και στον αίθριο χώρο του\, όπου αναπτύσσεται η έκθεση\, η πολυσχιδής δημιουργός δεν παρουσιάζει μόνο τα ολοκαίνουρια έργα της σε πεντελικό μάρμαρο\, αλλά και σχέδιά της με σινική μελάνη πάνω σε χειροποίητο χαρτί — «Γραμμές της σκέψης» — όπως και έξι χαρακτηριστικά της δουλειάς της κεφάλια από ηφαιστειακή πέτρα. \n«Στην Παροικιά\, στις αίθουσες του Αρχαιολογικού Μουσείου\, οι επισκέπτριες και επισκέπτες που μετακινούνται ανάμεσα σε αρχαϊκές κόρες και κούρους\, που αντικρίζουν τη Νίκη — τρόπαιο το οποίο είχε στηθεί σε ανάμνηση της νίκης των Παρίων κατά των Αθηναίων — ή που περιεργάζονται την ιερατική\, μυστηριακή Γοργώ με τα φτερά μαζεμένα προς τα πίσω\, αλλά και την ανάγλυφη πλάκα με τη μορφή της Γοργούς\, ένα γοργόνειον από τον 6ο π.Χ. αιώνα\, συναντούν τα σημερινά γλυπτά της Βένιας Δημητρακοπούλου: φτερούγες σε δράση για ένα αέρινο ταξίδι προς τα άνω\, αλλά και μια φτερούγα απλωμένη οριζόντια\, ως αναπαυόμενη»\, γράφει η επιμελήτρια της έκθεσης\, Ελένη Βαροπούλου. \nΤην εμπειρία της επίσκεψης στην έκθεση ολοκληρώνει η μουσική σύνθεση του Παναγιώτη Καλαντζόπουλου\, που δημιουργήθηκε ειδικά για την περίσταση. «Η γλυπτική δεν αρκεί να τη βλέπεις· πρέπει να την ακούς. Ο ήχος των έργων είναι ο αέρας\, τα έντομα\, τα βήματα\, το φως. Είναι ένα τραγούδι χωρίς λόγια\, στο οποίο η λύρα παίρνει τη θέση της φωνής»\, επισημαίνει ο συνθέτης\, που έχει συνεργαστεί και στο παρελθόν με τη γλύπτρια. And an entire world fashioned from fine-grained marble\, which emerged from the depths of Paros and became the foundation for great masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture\, welcomes in its home\, at the Archaeological Museum of Paros\, the exhibition “Beating on the Wings of The Mind and Art”\, featuring works by sculptor Venia Dimitrakopoulou. \nThe exhibition\, organized by the Friends of Paros and Antiparos and realized with the kind support of the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades\, is curated by Eleni Varopoulou. \nFour new sculptural works—’Resting Nike’\, ‘Wing of Myth’\, ‘Perpetual Flight’\, and ‘The Message of Dawn’—by Venia Dimitrakopoulou engage in dialogue with ancient artifacts like Nike – the emblematic Parian trophy- and the archaic Gorgoneion\, as well as with the Cycladic landscape. \n“Two lines define the natural landscape of the Cycladic space. One is the straight line. The other\, the curve. A straight line is the horizon\, that of the sea. Curves are the countless rounded angles in the rocks\, the mountains\, the characteristic buildings of the Cycladic islands. A relentless\, dazzling\, cathartic light calls for folds in fabrics\, fluting on columns\, and gives birth to the unimaginable play of light and shadow in sculpture\,” notes Venia Dimitrakopoulou. \nAlongside her new marble works\, the artist presents Lines of Thought—delicate ink drawings on handmade paper. The exhibition extends beyond the museum’s galleries into the courtyard\, where visitors can experience the full scope of Dimitrakopoulou’s work through six sculpted heads carved from volcanic stone\, offering glimpses into her evolving artistic journey. \n“In Parikia\, within the halls of the Archaeological Museum\, as visitors move among archaic korai and kouroi\, they encounter Nike—the trophy erected in remembrance of the Parian victory over the Athenians. They also study the priestly\, mysterious Gorgon with wings folded backward. Amidst these\, they encounter Venia Dimitrakopoulou’s contemporary sculptures: wings in motion for an ethereal journey upwards\, and a wing spread horizontally in repose\,” writes curator Eleni Varopoulou. \nThe experience is further enriched by a specially commissioned musical composition by Panagiotis Kalantzopoulos\, designed to complement the visual narrative. For the composer\, sculpture transcends the visual realm: “Sculpture should not only be seen—it must be heard. The sound of the works is the wind\, the insects\, the footsteps\, the light.
